St Clement's Curriculum
Curriculum Intent
At St. Clement’s, we aim to provide the best possible Catholic education, living out our faith and the Gospel values of love and service. Our curriculum is rooted in our mission statement: ‘striving for excellence in all that we do’ and our school values of love, respect, compassion, serving others, forgiveness and trust all play a huge part in ensuring our children grow into the people they were meant to be and successful citizens. Our curriculum aims to develop the wholeness of every child, personally and academically, and nurture the talents of all children, so they can live life to the full and be prepared for their future and life in the world today. We want our children to be aspirational and respectful of other people and cultures. At St Clement’s we are committed to providing a curriculum, which is broad and balanced, and is carefully structured so that it builds on children’s prior learning needs and develops their knowledge and skills in a progressive manner. We want our children to know and remember more. All staff ensure the children have a range of learning experiences that challenge, stimulate and promote thinking and learning through our curriculum. It is based on The National Curriculum and meets statutory requirements. Our curriculum has been designed to ensure that academic success, as well as physical development, well-being and mental wellness are key elements that support the development of the whole child and promote a positive attitude to learning. It provides meaningful opportunities to promote children’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and prepare our children for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.
