SEND
At St. Clement's Catholic Primary School, we aim to provide an appropriate and high quality education to all children in our care. We believe that all children have a common entitlement to a broad and balanced academic, social and spiritual curriculum, which is accessible to them and to be fully included in all aspects of school life.
What is meant by Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
A pupil has SEND if they have a learning difficulty or disability which calls for special educational provision to be made for them.
They have a learning difficulty or disability if they have:
A significantly greater difficulty in learning than the majority of others of the same age, or
A disability which prevents or hinders them from making use of facilities of a kind generally provided for others of the same age in mainstream schools
Special educational provision is educational or training provision that is additional to, or different from, that made generally for other children or young people of the same age by mainstream schools.
If you feel your child has a special need or disability and is in need of a personal assessment, additional support, or access arrangements please do contact us at the earliest stages to discuss how we can support you and your child in our mainstream setting.
